Do you love it? Or is your favorite influencer wearing it…

This feels like a version of, Is he hot, Or is he just wearing a baseball hat?

We love influencers.

They give us the cutest jeans and leggings that actually stay up. Also discounts. — Of course.

But their style is pretty different from yours. Yes, you’ve gotten multiple pieces from their discount codes, but you don’t have an entire closet of Rachel Parcell or Cara Loren specials.

Sure, now you can afford them. But it feels lame to buy everything they do. So how can you tell which pieces of theirs you love and which ones you can go without? Use the list below for a few easy ways.

Are you wearing it to the bbq or just in front of people who “get it?”

Sometimes influencers have some odd outfit combos. Or sometimes they just wear weird clothes. Sure, they look cute. But will you feel confident rolling up to your bbq in a onesie or was it just cute in the photo the Instagram girly posted?

If you find yourself avoiding wearing the pieces you buy because your family won’t get it or you won’t feel comfortable, don’t buy the piece. It isn’t you and that’s great.

It wasn’t on your list, but it’s on sale now.

You already know this. But somehow Instagram’s made it hard to remember. You don’t need another tank top. You have 15 new ones from the past few months, and you’ve only worn a few of them.

The same goes with any sale any brand is hosting with your Instagram girly as their partner.

Urban Outfitters is having a sale. Free People is discounting something from $267 to $132. It’s still expensive. And you aren’t even shopping for it.

Don’t let the savings convince you to hit purchase. You don’t need it.

It looks just like something your friend would wear.

Sometimes I’m tempted to buy something because it feels like something my sister would like. But I catch myself. Would I really reach for the shirt in the morning, or would it make me feel guilty every time I see it and remember I haven’t worn it yet?

What silhouettes make you feel most confident?

Usually there’s a type of silhouette you keep reaching for. Is it more casual with a baggy pant or do you prefer showing off your legs with fitted pieces?

Do you catch yourself reaching for shoes that show your feet or is it more comfortable to wear socks with everything?

Think of your day-to-day. What makes you feel hot? What makes you want to be seen?

Does the piece your Instagram girl is showing match that vibe?
